DALLAS — SMU closed its home slate with a statement, crushing Louisville 38–6 at Ford Stadium and keeping its ACC Championship hopes alive. Now 8–3, the Mustangs head to Cal next weekend needing a win — plus a loss from either Georgia Tech or Virginia — to punch their ticket to Charlotte.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings delivered one of his cleanest outings yet, throwing for 303 yards and three touchdowns and adding a rushing score. He spread the ball to nine receivers, with Jordan Hudson leading the way (8 catches, 96 yards, TD). TJ Harden paced the ground game with 90 yards and added a receiving touchdown.
SMU’s defense dominated, holding Louisville to just 100 passing yards, forcing 3-of-12 on third down, adding two sacks, five tackles for loss, and an interception from Tyren Polley Jr. It’s the second straight season the Mustangs have held an ACC opponent without a touchdown.
Off the field, SMU set new season attendance and student attendance records, continuing a surge under Rhett Lashlee that now includes a 19–2 run at home and a 14–1 mark in November.
Up Next: SMU travels to Cal on Nov. 29 — with the ACC title game still within reach.
