MINNEAPOLIS — Missing three key bigs, the Mavericks couldn’t keep up with the Timberwolves on Monday night, dropping a 120–96 matchup that slipped away early.
Naz Reid led Minnesota’s charge with 22 points, punishing a Dallas frontcourt stretched thin without Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II, and Anthony Davis. A late-third-quarter three from Reid pushed the Wolves’ lead past 30 and essentially sealed it.
Rookies Cooper Flagg and Brandon Williams each scored 15 for Dallas, but cold shooting—from deep in particular (9-for-30)—kept the Mavs from mounting any real push.
Dallas now turns its focus to Wednesday’s home meeting with the Knicks, hoping to get healthier and steadier after a rough night in Minneapolis.
