PROVO — In front of a season-high 64,447 fans, TCU never settled in and fell 44–13 to No. 19 BYU on Saturday night.
The Cougars scored on the opening drive — the first time TCU has allowed opening-drive points since Week 1 — and the Frogs went scoreless in the first quarter for the fifth time in seven Big 12 games. BYU piled up 27 first-half points, the most in the series since 1996, while TCU’s defense failed to record a sack for the first time in 18 games.
TCU did extend its NCAA scoring streak to 417 straight games, the second-longest in history, but the loss continues a four-game skid against ranked opponents.
