FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU controlled much of the afternoon at Amon G. Carter Stadium, but Iowa State stole momentum late, handing the Horned Frogs a tough 20–17 loss in Big 12 play. The defeat snapped TCU’s seven-game home winning streak.
The Frogs (6–3) built early control through steady defense and a balanced passing attack before the Cyclones surged in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.
Quarterback Josh Hoover turned in another big performance, completing a season-high 34 passes and throwing for over 300 yards for the fourth time this year. Receiver Jordan Dwyer tallied 11 receptions — his first double-digit outing at TCU — while Eric McAlister also hit 10, marking the first time since 2001 that two Horned Frog receivers have done so in the same game.
On defense, linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr paced the team in tackles for the third straight contest, and safety Bud Clark notched two interceptions, moving to fourth all-time in TCU history.
TCU will look to bounce back next week as Big 12 play continues.
