Mavericks Come Up Short Late in 110-102 Loss to Rockets

HOUSTON — P.J. Washington’s season-high 29 points and 12 rebounds weren’t enough as the Dallas Mavericks fell 110-102 to the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

Dallas tied the game at 99 late, but Houston’s young duo of Amen Thompson (27 points) and Alperen Sengun (26 points, 11 rebounds) closed it out with key buckets down the stretch.

Kevin Durant added 21 points, while rookie Cooper Flagg finished with 12 for Dallas, which played its second straight game without Anthony Davis (strained calf).

The Mavericks return home Wednesday to host the New Orleans Pelicans.
