FC Dallas Eliminated from Playoffs After Penalty Shootout Loss to Vancouver

FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas’ 2025 season ended in heartbreak Saturday night with a 4-2 penalty shootout loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC after a 1-1 draw at Toyota Stadium in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

Petar Musa gave Dallas the early lead in the 25th minute, tying Jason Kreis’ club record with 19 goals across all competitions. Homegrown defender Nolan Norris made his postseason debut, becoming the 12th academy product to appear in the playoffs.

The draw moved Dallas to 6-4-4 all-time in home playoff matches, finishing the season unbeaten in six straight at Toyota Stadium and 12-13-12 overall. Despite the exit, head coach Eric Quill praised his squad’s effort and growth, saying he was proud of their fight to the end.
