VANCOUVER, B.C. — FC Dallas opened the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs with a 3-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place on Sunday night, falling behind early in the best-of-three series.
Homegrown goalkeeper Michael Collodi kept Dallas in it with seven saves, continuing his strong form after posting a 4-2-3 record in the regular season. “They outplayed us in every phase,” head coach Eric Quill said postgame. “We got humbled tonight.”
The match marked postseason debuts for 11 Dallas players, including Collodi, Christian Cappis, Ramiro, and Petar Musa, highlighting the club’s growing youth movement.
Cappis admitted the performance wasn’t up to standard: “That was not what we wanted. We have to look at ourselves and get ready, because next weekend is win or go home.”
Dallas will look to bounce back in Game 2 on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Toyota Stadium. “There’s no better place to turn it around than at home,” Cappis added. “We’ll play for our fans and each other.”
