CHARLOTTE, NC — North Texas stayed hot on the road, cruising past Charlotte 54-20 to improve to 7-1. Freshman QB Drew Mestemaker set program and AAC records with 608 passing yards and four touchdowns, leading an offense that piled up 754 total yards, the second-most in school history.
Three receivers—Wyatt Young (190 yds), Cameron Dorner (117), and Landon Sides (114)—each topped 100 yards, marking just the third time this season any FBS team has done so.
Kiefer Sibley added two rushing scores as the Mean Green topped 50 points for the fourth time this year and 30+ for the eighth straight game—a program first.
Defensively, Ethan Wesloski led with 10 tackles, and UNT shut out Charlotte in the second half to stay perfect on the road under Eric Morris (3-0).
Next up: a crucial AAC home matchup against Navy.
