FORT WORTH, TX — Through driving rain, lightning delays, and a fierce Baylor challenge, TCU found a way to grind out a 42–36 victory Saturday afternoon at Amon G. Carter Stadium. The rivalry win came in front of 43,868 fans and extended TCU’s remarkable scoring streak to 414 consecutive games, the second-longest in NCAA history.
After falling behind early and going scoreless in the opening quarter for the third straight week, the Horned Frogs flipped the momentum midway through the second. Following a torrential downpour, TCU surged ahead, outscoring Baylor 21–3 in a critical stretch that swung the game. The win also pushed TCU’s all-time series lead over Baylor to 60-54-7 — a firm grip on Texas’ most-played college football rivalry.
Quarterback Josh Hoover delivered again, tossing three touchdowns for the third consecutive game. Kevorian Barnes found the end zone for the first time since the season opener, and receiver Eric McAlister continued to stretch the field, now totaling 12 catches of 20+ yards, second-most in the nation. Ka’morreun Pimpton made his first catch count — a touchdown in his TCU debut — while Kaleb Elarms-Orr led the defense with 15 tackles, the most by a Horned Frog in six years.
