DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks have signed head coach Jason Kidd to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Now in his fifth season at the helm, Kidd has reestablished the Mavericks as a Western Conference power since taking over in 2021. He guided Dallas to a 52-30 record and a trip to the Western Conference Finals in his first season, followed by a 50-32 campaign, a Southwest Division title, and a 2024 NBA Finals appearance last year.
Kidd’s connection to Dallas runs deep. He spent eight of his 19 NBA seasons as a Maverick and helped the franchise capture its first championship in 2011. His success as both a player and coach, along with his ability to develop talent and maintain strong locker-room chemistry, has made him a central figure in the organization’s long-term vision.
A 10-time All-Star, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and two-time Hall of Fame inductee, Kidd continues to bring experience and stability to a Mavericks team built to contend for years to come.
