MANHATTAN, Kan. — Costly turnovers and defensive breakdowns doomed TCU in a 41-28 loss to Kansas State.
The Horned Frogs extended their NCAA scoring streak to 413 games and had six or more receivers make a catch for the 47th straight contest. Their first touchdown drive spanned 93 yards, tying their longest of the season, but two defensive scores by K-State proved too much to overcome.
Quarterback Josh Hoover surpassed Max Knake for fourth all-time in program completions and threw for over 300 yards, though he also tossed two interceptions. Eric McAlister and Ed Small both topped 100 receiving yards — the first TCU duo to do so this year — while Jeremy Payne scored for the third straight game he’s played.
Joseph Manjack IV extended his catch streak to 32 games, and Jonathan Bax recorded his first pass breakup.
Under Sonny Dykes, TCU is now 6-11 when losing the turnover battle and has dropped four straight in Manhattan since 2017.
