Wyatt Johnston Making History Early and Poised for a Breakout Season

FRISCO, TEXAS — Wyatt Johnston’s rise in Dallas has been nothing short of impressive.

Drafted 23rd overall in 2021, the young center quickly proved he belonged. After signing his entry-level deal that fall, Johnston broke into the NHL a year later and scored in his debut against Nashville — becoming the youngest North American to play for the Stars since 1994.

He set a franchise record for goals by a teenager with 15 and finished his rookie season with 24 goals and 41 points in all 82 games.

The milestones kept coming. In 2024, he recorded his first hat trick against San Jose. A year later, he became the youngest player in Stars history to notch a natural hat trick in a win over Vegas.

Johnston capped off the 2024–25 campaign with career highs across the board, finishing with 71 points. Now entering another season, the 22-year-old looks ready to elevate his game even further.
