EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Dallas Cowboys are back to even.
In a strong Sunday afternoon showing, Dallas put together one of its most complete performances of the season, rolling past the New York Jets 37-22 at MetLife Stadium. The victory lifts the Cowboys to 2-2-1 and resets the tone heading into the middle of the season.
Dak Prescott led the charge with one of his sharpest outings this year, completing 18 of 29 passes for 237 yards and four touchdowns. The offense thrived with a balanced approach, leaning on both an efficient passing game and a punishing ground attack.
Second-year receiver Ryan Flournoy had a breakout game, hauling in a career-high six receptions for 114 yards. His 46-yard catch in the second quarter was the longest of his career and helped spark a first-half surge. He also contributed 10 rushing yards on a pair of jet sweeps.
Running back Javonte Williams delivered a career-best performance as well, rushing 16 times for 135 yards and a touchdown. He added a receiving score, giving him five total touchdowns on the year as he continues to emerge as a key offensive weapon.
Tight end Jake Ferguson was once again Prescott’s go-to target underneath, finishing with seven catches for 49 yards and a touchdown. Through five games, Ferguson now has 41 receptions — tied for the most ever by a tight end through the first five games of a season in NFL history. He joins Eric Johnson (2004) and Zach Ertz (2018) in the record books.
George Pickens added two receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown, continuing his big-play production.
The Cowboys dominated on the ground, rushing for a season-high 180 yards while averaging 6.21 yards per carry — their most efficient mark since a 6.24 clip against Cincinnati in 2024. It also marked the fifth straight game Dallas has topped 100 yards rushing to start the season — something they last achieved in 2016.
On defense, edge rusher James Houston came alive with 1.5 sacks — his first multi-sack game since his rookie season in 2023. Linebacker Marist Liufau forced a key turnover in the second quarter, punching the ball out to set up Sam Williams’ fourth career fumble recovery. It marked Williams’ first since his rookie season against Indianapolis on December 4, 2022.
The Cowboys improved to 12-6 all-time at MetLife Stadium since it opened in 2010 — the second-best win percentage of any visiting team with at least eight games played. Only the Patriots (12-5) have been better. Dallas hasn’t lost there since the 2020 season finale against the Giants.
Up next: The Cowboys stay on the road, heading south to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. With momentum building and the offense firing on all cylinders, Dallas will look to climb above .500 for the first time this season.
