PORTLAND, OR — FC Dallas fought back twice on the road to secure a 2-2 draw against the Portland Timbers, extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches.
Petar Musa continued his red-hot form, converting a second-half penalty to tie the match at 1-1 and notch his 17th goal of the season—just one shy of the club’s single-season record. “We had our moments,” said head coach Eric Quill. “Musa’s been clinical for us, and that goal kept us in it.”
After Portland regained the lead, Anderson Julio answered in the 85th minute with a calm finish inside the box. “We showed a lot of resilience,” said forward Logan Farrington, who drew the penalty for Musa’s goal. “We went down twice and kept fighting.”
Midfielder Diego Garcia made his MLS debut, becoming the 17th player to do so for Dallas this season. “It’s a dream I’ve had since I was a kid,” said the 18-year-old, who came up through North Texas SC. “I’m just thankful for the chance.”
Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson was solid in net with eight saves, marking his third straight start. The draw moves FC Dallas to 9-11-11 (38 points), keeping their playoff hopes alive heading into the home finale on Oct. 4 against LA Galaxy.
