TEMPE, Ariz. — TCU dropped a close one on the road, falling 27-24 to Arizona State in front of 53,774 fans at Mountain America Stadium.
Josh Hoover threw for 242 yards, moving to fourth all-time in TCU passing yards (7,429), and added a rushing touchdown. Trent Battle opened the scoring with his third rushing TD of the season. Defensively, Kaleb Elarms-Orr had his first multi-sack game as the Frogs matched a season-high with four sacks.
Despite the effort, TCU’s defense gave up a 100-yard rusher and receiver for the first time this season. Arizona State’s Raleek Brown ran for 147 yards, and Jordyn Tyson added 126 receiving yards.
TCU extended its scoring streak to 411 games — second longest in NCAA history — and had six players catch passes for the 45th straight game. Still, the Frogs fall to 2-2 and face questions heading into conference play.
