TAMPA, FL — Dallas Trinity FC extended its road swing with a 1-1 draw against Tampa Bay Sun FC, the team’s first tie of the season.

Forward Allie Thornton struck early in the sixth minute off a feed from Chioma Ubogagu. “It was a really great team goal… Chioma made a great pass and I’m happy that I was able to put it away,” Thornton said.

Tampa Bay equalized in the 68th minute, but Dallas controlled the match with 15 shots, three on target, and 62% possession.

Head Coach Chris Petrucelli called it “a disappointing draw… we were a lot more confident with the ball and a lot more aggressive in our attack tonight.”

Forward Sealey Strawn added, “A match like tonight does help our confidence… heading into next week, we’re just going to come in even harder.”

Dallas faces Lexington SC Friday, Sept. 26 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. All matches stream on Peacock.
