ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI — FC Dallas earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw at St. Louis CITY SC despite playing 71 minutes a man down. Petar Musa scored his 14th goal of the season just three minutes after St. Louis’ opener, tying Jesús Ferreira for the most goals over a two-season span in club history. Christian Cappis recorded his first MLS assist on the strike.
The match turned dramatic in the 16th minute when goalkeeper Michael Collodi was red-carded, forcing Jacob Jackson into his FC Dallas debut. Thrown into a high-pressure situation, Jackson made 11 saves, helping the team set a club record with 13 combined saves in a single match.
Head coach Eric Quill praised the team’s resilience: “We want to win games but I think FC Dallas fans watching tonight would be proud to see what the team just did for the crest and how they fought with every bit of themselves.”
FC Dallas has now recovered 19 points from losing positions this season—the most in MLS—and will return home to face Austin FC at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. CT. The match streams on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, with audio available on the FC Dallas app.
