FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are rewarding one of their breakout stars in a big way.
Cornerback DaRon Bland has agreed to a four-year, $92 million contract extension, securing his place in Dallas’ secondary for the foreseeable future. The deal comes just two years after Bland burst onto the scene by rewriting the NFL record books with five pick-sixes in a single season — the most ever recorded in league history.
What began as a fifth-round flyer out of Fresno State has evolved into one of the Cowboys’ most productive defensive playmakers. Bland stepped up in 2023 following injuries to key starters and didn’t just hold his own — he thrived. His ball-hawking instincts and game-changing plays helped fuel one of the league’s top defenses.
With Bland now under contract through 2029, the Cowboys are betting that his knack for creating turnovers — and flipping the field — is far from finished.
