FORT WORTH, TEXAS — TCU kicks off its 2025 campaign in primetime Monday night against North Carolina, marking its first trip to the Tar Heel State in over two decades.
Led by head coach Sonny Dykes in his fourth season, the Horned Frogs are coming off a strong finish to 2024, winning six of their final seven games. Quarterback Josh Hoover returns under center after setting the program’s single-season passing record last year with 3,949 yards and 27 touchdowns.
He’ll face a tough test early, as the Frogs take on one of two Power 4 non-conference opponents on their schedule—part of a gauntlet that includes 11 Power 4 matchups overall, tied for the most in the country.
Defensive leader Bud Clark anchors a unit looking to build on last season’s late surge, while TCU’s revamped offense aims to establish rhythm early after losing its top three receivers to the NFL.
The Horned Frogs are 4-1 in true road games against Power 4 opponents since 2015—and they’ll need that road toughness Monday night in Chapel Hill.
