Wings Fall Short to Valkyries Despite Strong Effort at Home

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Dallas Wings came up short in a 90-81 loss to the Golden State Valkyries Sunday afternoon at a sold-out College Park Center. Maddy Siegrist led the Wings with 16 points and five boards, while rookie Amy Okonkwo added 12 points in just her second WNBA game.

Dallas (9-29) had five players in double figures but couldn’t overcome Golden State’s hot shooting down the stretch. The Valkyries hit six threes in the fourth, including two from Veronica Burton, who finished with 25 points and 13 assists.

Paige Bueckers posted nine points and nine assists, ending her 30-game double-digit scoring streak—just three shy of the WNBA rookie record.

The Wings dominated the paint 44-20 and got 27 points off the bench but couldn’t close the gap late.

Dallas wraps up its homestand Wednesday against Connecticut. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. CT on KFAA29.
