Eovaldi Shines, Tellez Lifts Rangers Over Yankees 2-0

ARLINGTON, TX — Nathan Eovaldi was nearly perfect, allowing just one baserunner over eight shutout innings as the Rangers blanked the Yankees 2-0 Tuesday night at Globe Life Field.

Rowdy Tellez broke the tie in the eighth with a two-run single after a 10-pitch battle. He’s now hitting .300 since joining Texas.

Josh Smith added two doubles, and Joc Pederson reached four times as Texas won its eighth straight at home. The Rangers improve to 60-55 and have won 9 of their last 11 at home vs. New York.

The Yankees managed just two hits and have lost five straight on their road trip. Series wraps Wednesday afternoon.
