A Fort Worth native, Laci Hawthorne has transformed her passion for sports into a dynamic career in sports media. A former Division I basketball standout, she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Murray State University while excelling on the court. She went on to complete her master’s degree at Utah State University, continuing both her academic and athletic journey.
After college, Laci played professional basketball overseas for three seasons, with stints in Cyprus, Australia, Germany, and Ireland. Her experience as a high-level athlete gives her a unique lens into the world of sports—one rooted in firsthand knowledge, discipline, and a deep connection to the game.
Now stepping off the court and into the spotlight, Laci brings her storytelling talents to D210SPORTS, where she covers TCU Football and Basketball, as well as Dallas Wings Basketball. Her work is driven by a commitment to uncovering the emotion, culture, and humanity behind every game—connecting with both athletes and audiences through compelling, authentic coverage.
