Rangers Fall 8-5 Despite 14 Hits in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, CA — The Rangers’ bats stayed hot but defensive miscues and walks proved costly in an 8-5 loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

Texas took a brief 4-3 lead in the sixth, but Jon Gray’s two walks opened the door for a four-run Angels rally. Yoán Moncada delivered the go-ahead two-run single.

Kyle Higashioka homered twice for the Rangers, while Adolis García made a leaping catch to save a two-run homer. Tempers flared in the eighth after two hit batters, but no punches were thrown.

Next Up: Nathan Eovaldi (8-3) starts Wednesday’s finale vs. Jose Soriano (7-7).
