ARLINGTON, Texas — The Rangers wrapped up their homestand with a 4-1 loss to Kansas City, dropping all three games of the series and suffering their fourth sweep of the season — their first at home since September 2023.
Texas was held hitless until the sixth inning as Royals starter Michael Wacha dominated, allowing just two hits and one run over six frames. Marcus Semien extended his hitting streak to 11 games with an RBI double, but the Rangers couldn’t generate any consistent offense.
Shawn Armstrong allowed a two-run homer in the opening inning, while rookie Jac Caglianone added solo blasts in the second and eighth for his first two big-league home runs. Vinnie Pasquantino opened the scoring with his 11th homer of the year.
Lefty Jacob Latz gave Texas a lift in long relief, tossing 5.2 innings — the longest by a Rangers reliever since 2024 — but didn’t register a strikeout.
Texas finished 3-3 on the homestand and now heads to Pittsburgh for a six-game road swing.
