ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Dallas Wings battled their way to a much-needed 80-71 win over the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday night, snapping their skid and picking up just their second win of the season to move to 2-11.
It was a tightly contested matchup from start to finish, with both teams trading blows and locking in defensively. The intensity ramped up in the fourth quarter, but it was Dallas who stepped up in the closing minutes, executing on both ends to secure the win.
The Wings also unveiled a refreshed lineup, featuring newly added guard-forwards Kaila Charles and Haley Jones, who provided a spark and depth to the rotation.
Paige Bueckers led all scorers with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. After the game, she emphasized how much the win meant to the team, stressing the importance of continued effort, growth, and consistency moving forward.
Arike Ogunbowale added a strong performance of her own, finishing with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Dallas now hits the road for a tough test against the Connecticut Sun on Friday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 PM CST.
