Rangers Stay Hot, Finish Sweep of White Sox

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Rangers wrapped up a three-game sweep of the White Sox with a 2-1 win Sunday, returning to .500 (36-36) for the first time since May.

Rookie Kumar Rocker stepped up in a spot start, throwing five shutout innings with six strikeouts in his second career win. He was called up earlier in the day after Tyler Mahle was placed on the IL.

Ezequiel Duran broke a tie with a two-out RBI double in the second and later added another double. Marcus Semien drove in a run with a sac fly and extended his hit streak to eight games. Corey Seager walked in the first, giving him 10 straight games with a free pass.

Texas, who has now won four straight, drew five more walks—26 total over the past four games.

Miguel Vargas homered in the sixth for Chicago’s only run. Aaron Civale took the loss in his White Sox debut, giving up two runs over five innings with four walks.

The White Sox have lost five in a row and are now winless in their last 10 trips to Globe Life Field.
