Prescott Sets Championship Tone as Cowboys Close Minicamp

FRISCO, TEXAS — As the Cowboys wrapped up mandatory minicamp at The Star, Dak Prescott made it clear: this season is all about one thing—winning.

After watching from the sidelines for the final nine games of 2024 due to a hamstring avulsion that required surgery, Prescott returns to the field with renewed purpose. Dallas stumbled to a 7-10 finish without its starting quarterback, but 2025 offers a clean slate—and Prescott is determined to take full advantage of it.

“The legacy, the things, whatever comes after I finish playing will take care of itself. I want to win a championship. Be damned if it’s just for my legacy, or if it’s for this team, for my personal being, for my sanity. Yeah, the legacy will take care of itself. I have to stay where my feet are,” Prescott said following the final practice.

Prescott enters the season with one of the strongest receiver groups he’s had in recent years. CeeDee Lamb returns after another Pro Bowl campaign, and the addition of George Pickens adds even more explosiveness to the offense. Prescott had high praise for his new weapon, highlighting Pickens’ commitment: “He has been early to the building every day.” As for concerns about Pickens adjusting to a new environment, Prescott didn’t flinch: “No concerns on personal matters of GP.”

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer shares Prescott’s confidence. Earlier this week, he emphasized the staff’s belief in the roster and where this team is headed: “We’re going to win. And when we win, our coaching staff is going to get raided. People are going to come after our coaches, because we’re gonna win.”

With leadership at the top, a healthy quarterback, and a reloaded offense, the Cowboys head into the summer with something to prove—and the pieces in place to back it up.
