Dallas Trinity FC Clinches Playoff Spot with Win Over Carolina

DALLAS – Dallas Trinity FC secured a postseason berth with a 2-1 victory over league-leading Carolina Ascent FC in their regular-season finale at the Cotton Bowl.

Allie Thornton opened the scoring in the 20th minute with her league-leading 13th goal of the season, heading in a cross from Tamara Bolt. Midfielder Chioma Ubogagu added the eventual game-winner in the 54th minute.

With the win, Dallas closes the season in third place (12-9-7, 43 points) and finishes the year 2-1-1 against Carolina. Trinity posted a 7-2-5 home record in its inaugural campaign.

Next up: a USL Super League semifinal showdown with Tampa Bay Sun FC on June 7. The match will stream live on Peacock.
