Stars Eliminated in West Final by Oilers Again

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Stars’ Stanley Cup hopes were crushed once more, falling 6-3 to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.

Edmonton pounced early, scoring three goals in the first eight minutes. Jake Oettinger was pulled, and Casey DeSmith couldn’t slow the Oilers’ attack.

Jason Robertson scored twice, and Roope Hintz added a goal, but each push from Dallas was met with an immediate Edmonton response. A blocked shot led to a Connor McDavid breakaway goal that shifted the momentum for good.

We were undisciplined,” said Stars forward Jason Robertson. “They’re a fastbreak team… we just couldn’t defend when they were pushing, and it cost us.

It’s the third straight trip to the West Final without a Finals appearance for Dallas, leaving another offseason full of questions.
