ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Rangers bounced back Tuesday night with a 2-0 win over the Blue Jays, evening the series behind a stellar performance from their bullpen. Six pitchers combined for the shutout, the team’s sixth of the season—second-most in the American League.
Josh Jung broke the scoreless tie in the eighth with an RBI single, continuing his strong month at the plate. Nathan Eovaldi made a brief two-inning start before exiting with arm fatigue but extended his streak of one-run-or-fewer outings to seven, setting a franchise record.
Jacob Latz provided key middle innings with three scoreless frames and four strikeouts. Rookie Alejandro Osuna reached base twice and has now done so in each of his first three big league games.
Toronto’s bats struggled again, finishing 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position and tallying just four runs across their last five games. Bowden Francis threw five shutout innings, but the Jays couldn’t capitalize.
The series wraps up Wednesday before the Rangers host St. Louis for the weekend.
