ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Rangers continued their recent hot stretch with a 4-1 win over the Rockies on Monday night, pushing their win streak to four games and moving above .500 for the first time in May.
Jack Leiter delivered the best start of his young career, tossing six strong innings while allowing just one run and two hits. After giving up an RBI single in the first, he retired 15 straight and struck out five. The Rangers’ rotation has been dominant lately, posting a 1.72 ERA over the last five games.
Josh Jung powered the offense with a pair of home runs, accounting for all four Texas runs. He now has four homers in his last seven games and is batting .300 over his last 20 contests.
Hoby Milner and Shawn Armstrong handled the final three innings, with Armstrong recording his first save of the season. Texas has now won six of its last nine and secured back-to-back series wins for the first time since the opening weeks.
Colorado, now 7-35, has lost all 14 of its series this season and owns the worst 42-game start by any team in the divisional era. Starter Kyle Freeland gave up the early damage but settled in, though his lack of run support continued.
Texas will look to complete the sweep before hosting Houston in a four-game set.
