Granlund’s Hat Trick Lifts Stars to 3-1 Series Lead Over Jets

DALLAS, TEXAS — Mikael Granlund scored three goals for his first career playoff hat trick, leading the Dallas Stars to a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series on Monday night.

The win at American Airlines Center gives the Stars a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Granlund scored once in each period, powering Dallas past a determined Winnipeg squad and quieting any momentum the Jets had hoped to build. The veteran forward was the difference-maker in a tight, physical game that saw both teams battle for every inch of ice.

The series now shifts back to Winnipeg for Game 5, where the Jets will try to extend their season on home ice.
