ARLINGTON, Texas — The Rangers dropped their series finale to the Athletics, 3-0, Thursday afternoon at Globe Life Field, falling to .500 (16-16) for the first time since March 28. Texas was shut out for the fourth time this season, tied for the most in the American League.
Tyler Mahle delivered another strong outing, allowing one run over six innings, but took his first loss of the year. Mahle (3-1) owns a 1.19 ERA through seven starts, tied with New York’s Max Fried for the A.L. lead.
Offensively, the Rangers managed just two hits, both singles. Marcus Semien extended his hitting streak to six games and stole his first base of the season, while rookie Wyatt Langford notched a fourth-inning single and has hit .372 over his last 11 games.
Oakland claimed the four-game set 3-1, its first series win of that length over Texas since 2018. Jeffrey Springs tossed six scoreless innings for the A’s, scattering two hits to earn his fourth win. Miguel Andujar and Jacob Wilson each delivered RBI singles, and Luis Urías added a sac fly.
