Stars Dominate Avalanche, Lead Series 3-2

DALLAS — Wyatt Johnston scored nine seconds in — a franchise playoff record — as the Stars rolled past the Avalanche 6-2 Monday to grab a 3-2 series lead.

Johnston finished with two goals and an assist. Mikko Rantanen added a goal and two assists, while Jake Oettinger made 27 saves.

Dallas bounced back from a Game 4 shutout, jumping ahead early and never trailing. Mason Marchment and Roope Hintz also scored.

Game 6 is Thursday in Denver.
