Avalanche Shut Out Stars, Tie Series Behind Landeskog’s Return

DENVER — Gabriel Landeskog scored his first goal in nearly three years as the Colorado Avalanche blanked the Dallas Stars 4-0 on Saturday night to even their first-round playoff series at two games apiece.

Landeskog, playing just his second game back after a lengthy knee injury, scored in the second period and added an assist. Logan O’Connor had a short-handed goal, while Nathan MacKinnon and Samuel Girard also found the net. Brock Nelson tallied two assists.

Mackenzie Blackwood stopped all 23 shots for his first career postseason shutout, as Colorado outshot Dallas 48-23. The Avalanche shook up their power-play units after going scoreless in Game 3, and the adjustments paid off.

Jake Oettinger made 31 saves for the Stars before being pulled for the third period. Game 5 is Monday in Dallas.
