Stars Aim for Season Sweep in Final Matchup

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Stars will meet the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday night for the final time this season, looking to complete a season sweep. Dallas has taken each of the previous three matchups: a 2-1 win on Dec. 2, a 3-2 victory on Dec. 23, and another 3-2 edge on Jan. 4.

Heading into Saturday’s clash, the Stars boast a 50-23-6 record, while Utah sits at 36-30-13. Dallas holds a 3-0-0 all-time record against the newly established Utah franchise, which relocated from Arizona but is treated as a fresh start in league history. On home ice, the Stars are 1-0-0 against them.

Dallas has been flawless on the penalty kill in the season series, going a perfect 5-for-5 in those situations.

Mikael Granlund has found his rhythm against Utah, collecting at least one point in each of the three games played. He’s totaled five points (2 goals, 3 assists), including a standout three-point outing (1-2—3) back on Oct. 28. Among players with at least three games played against Utah this season, his five points are tied for the second-most league-wide.

Wyatt Johnston has also delivered consistent production, carrying a two-game point streak into Saturday. He’s picked up three assists over those contests, including a two-assist effort during the Jan. 4 win in Dallas.
