Dallas Wings Start Five-Game Road Trip With Its First Visit To Atlanta Dream

ATLANTA, GA — The Dallas Wings (1-1) kickoff a five-game road trip Tuesday to face the Atlanta Dream (1-1) for the first time this season. Both teams are coming off losses. The Dallas Wings fell to the Chicago Sky 83-74 Saturday evening and the Dream came up short 88-85 against the Phoenix Mercury.

Atlanta was lead by top performers Allisha Gray who scored 22 points, 2 steals and blocks. Rhyne Howard added 21 points and nine rebounds, only missing four-of-nine from the three.

The Dallas Wings with one loss and win, remain with the WNBA’s top scorer in Arike Ogunbowale who leads all scorers averaging 30 points per game while dropping a game-best 35 points on Saturday versus the Chicago Sky.

Last season Dallas defeated the Dream in six consecutive games in the 2022 season and the 2023 WNBA Playoffs. The Wings took the wins in all three regular-season games against Atlanta in 2023.

Atlanta went 19-21 overall with a 11-9 at home record last season giving up 84 PPG with 19.3 fouls. Dallas went 22-18 overall last season 11-9 on the road. The Wings finished shooting 44.3% from the field and 31.7% completion from the three.

With a clean slate and the first meeting between these two teams this season, this can be anyone’s game.

As far as injuries go for the Dallas Wings they remain without three players but are getting contributions from rookie Stephanie Soares and Maddy Siegrist who both earned their first career starts Saturday night. The new addition, Monique Billings, came in and had an impact in her 20 minutes of playtime scoring five points and four rebounds. Atlanta has no injuries listed heading into tonight’s matchup.

These two teams will go head-to-head tonight in the Gateway Center Arena at College Park. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
