Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers NFL Week 6 Preview

Los Angeles, CA — The Dallas Cowboys (3-2) are looking to bounce back after a hefty loss to the San Francisco 49’ers (5-0) this past Sunday night. The Cowboys will be heading west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers (2-2) on Monday night football. The Cowboys are 49-35 in Monday night football games and will be making their 85th appearance on Monday.

Dallas’s offense struggled last week against San Francisco, quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off a three interception game. The good news is that the Chargers secondary is lacking which will give Prescott more opportunity to go to CeeDee Lamb and  Michael Gallup.

Prescott will have to look out for L.A.’s pass rush, they are currently averaging four sacks a game led by Khalil Mac who has six so far this season, and yes he got them all in a single game.

Defensively, the Cowboys secondary will spend a lot of time with Keenan Allen. That’s Justin Herbert’s go to WR1, he’s averaging 108 yards per game. The Chargers other weapon RB Austin Ekeler has been out since week one. The Chargers run offense has been slow without him. He does have an opportunity to return this game but if he does not expect to see most of L.A.’s offense in the air.

Dallas’s pass rush will be heading Herbert’s way. Herbert has already been sacked nine times this season which will give Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence opportunity to add to their stat sheet.

We spoke with head coach Mike McCarthy on Thursday morning and he said that Leighton Vander Esch will be put on injured reserved and will not be playing in Monday nights matchup. Vander Esch was injured in the game against the 49’ers.

Kick off is at 7:20pm.
