Utah Jazz vs Dallas Mavericks Preview

DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks are getting ready to take on the Utah Jazz after coming off a win this previous Sunday against the Orlando Magic.

The Mavs are finding a good rhythm for the season and we hope they can stay on a consistent winning basis but can they do that without the new big man, Christian Wood.

Dallas added Wood to the injury report early Tuesday morning, listing him as questionable to play on Wednesday due to a non-Covid illness. If Wood is unable to play, the Mavs do have other options to utilize other players at the center position. JaVale McGee remains the starter with Wood still sidelined.

The Mavs also received a positive result with Dwight Powell, using him in the rotation over the last two games.

Head coach Jason Kidd stated, “McGee is a strong kid, we’ll give him a chance. He’s going to play. He’s going to get into the swing of things, and we believe in him.” Kidd also commented on some positives on Powell, he said,” he stabilizes and is very impactful. He gave us a spark and he’s been great in the two games he played.”

Tip off is at 7:30 CT at American Airlines center.
