Micah Parsons Looking to Exceed Expectations

FRISCO, TX – The NFL’s 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year, Micah Parsons, is trying to be even better than he was last year, which many can say he did not disappoint anybody last season. Most would actually say that he blew everyone’s expectations out of the water for a first year rookie player.

Last season he led the Cowboys with 13 sacks, 42 pressures and ranked fifth in the NFL with 52 tackles.

“Last year, I was trying to find myself. This year, I know exactly who I need to be.” Parsons told us after practice on Thursday.

The Cowboys are just 9 days away from playing Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs. Parsons said after practice that he is going to be facing a different and more improved Tom Brady and Tom Brady is going to be facing a different and more improved Micah Parsons.

“I don’t want to be anything short of the No. 1 (player in the NFL). That’s the type of confidence I have. I want to be the best. … I want to be feared……I have to dominate every game.” Parsons said.

Tampa Bay beat the Cowboys in a 31-29 victory in their season opener last year and Parsons was not pleased with his performance against one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

“I would say that was probably my worst game.” Parsons said.

That was Parsons first NFL game and his confidence and knowledge of the game only grew from there. The 23-year-old is now a huge factor in this Dallas defense and his role this year will be even bigger than it was last year, on and off the field.

“I just want to get on the field and play football. That’s all I ever wanted to do in life is just play games, you know? So whatever I have to do to make sure I stay on the field, that’s what I’m going to do.” Parsons said.

“Being the best player in the league doesn’t mean you’re gonna have 20 sacks. Being the best player in the league, you’re leading your team to a championship.” He said.

Everyone is excited to see what this young super star has in store for the Cowboys this season and the wait is almost over.
