Cowboys Home Run Derby Returns After Three Years

FRISCO, TX – The Dallas Cowboys Home Run Derby returned to Dr. Pepper stadium after three years due to COVID-19. Some of the Cowboy’s fan favorites showed up to swing some bats for charity.

Dak Prescott had a bet with Micah Parsons on who was going to have more home runs on the night and Parsons won that bet fair and square.

Parsons had 11 home runs on the night while Prescott had six home runs. Parsons told us after he was up to bat that he bought a $500 bat to hit with. He let all the players use the bat and said that he was going to donate it after the event was over.

“I was surprised to see that come from him… ya.. He won the bet.” Prescott said.

Even with hitting the most home runs at 11,  Parsons did come in third place raising $13,700. Anthony Brown came in second with $14,900 raised and finally Leighton Vander Esch finished first with $16,300 raised.

“I still got baseball in my blood.”, Vander Esch said after he received the trophy.

There was $81,000 raised tonight for the Salvation Army.

The Dallas Cowboys are continuing OTA’s this week before heading into minicamp next week.
