FC Dallas Having Some Fun

FRISCO, TEXAS — FC Dallas is currently having some fun on the field in preparation for their first match Saturday, March 13th. New defender Jose Martinez and goal keeper Jimmy Maurer discussed how practices have been going and what the new dynamic of the team looks like.

D210SPORTS reporter Raya Turner, asked Jose Martinez what he is most looking forward to in this upcoming season. Martinez- “I am looking to be a better player and to improve in every aspect on the field as much as possible. I want to continue to find excellence in myself and also show coach Gonzalez how hard I work. We have a great bond and I feel he helps me be a better player and teammate on the field.”

Martinez had also mentioned that his interest in FC Dallas wasn’t as recent as everyone thinks. Martinez was a trade from his former club in Spain but his interest about coming to America to play for FC Dallas, goes as far back as three years ago. He says,” I had always wanted to be in the United States but I didn’t feel it was the right time. It’s a big step to come to America and I wanted to be sure I was ready and had progressed as a player that I wanted to be, but when the time was right, I was very excited to start with FC Dallas and work with coach Gonzalez.”

Jimmy Maurer also had some things to say as far as how the offseason was and how the new dynamic of the team is going. Maurer-” offseason was tough because we couldn’t practice in person and really get to know the team but now that we’re back we can work on things we need to improve on as a team and individually. The new dynamic of this team is to focus on how we can get faster, stronger and more in tune with our chemistry as a team.”
