Wings Blow Past Sparks

ARLINGTON, Texas — Kids Day ends with a win for the Dallas Wings with a 74-62 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Starting forward Kayla Thornton led all scorers with 17 points. Thornton went on to score 8 unanswered points in a two-minute span capped by a fast-break layup in the fourth quarter. Glory Johnson and Arike Ogunbowale each contributed with 14 points in the win for Dallas (5-9).

Riquina Williams added 14 points and Nneka Ogwumike ended the night with a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Los Angeles (7-7). Candace Parker played only six minutes of the first half before leaving due to a foot injury.

 The Dallas Wings hit the road and will to face the Seattle Storm on Friday July 12 at 9pm.
