Stone has established her own label, Stone d Records, hence the title of the first album to come out on the label, LP1. It is the first album Joss has recorded with total creative freedom. She co-wrote and co-produced it with super-producer and Eurythmics co-founder, Dave Stewart. Together they immersed themselves into a rock n; soul musical odyssey in Nashville, Tennessee.

Grammy and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will release her highly anticipated sophomore album I Remember Me on March 22 on Arista Records. The album’s first single, “Where You At,” was written and produced by R. Kelly. The album title, I Remember Me, is based on a poem written by Jennifer and composed into a beautiful song co-written by Ryan Tedder that is featured on the album. Additional writers and producers on the album include multi-award winners Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rich Harrison, Ne-Yo and Stargate.

“I”m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life,” comments Jennifer. “I’ve called it ‘I Remember Me’ because of the journey I’ve been on. I’ve learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans. My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album.”

Clive Davis, Chief Creative Officer, Sony Music Entertainment states: “Jennifer is the voice of the new generation and she literally soars on her second album ‘I Remember Me.’ Jennifer fulfills all of her promise and all of the prophesies that she will be on that short list of great vocalists of our time.”

I Remember Me is the follow up to Jennifer s 2008 eponymous debut album, which featured the hit singles “Spotlight” and “If This Isn t Love.” Jennifer Hudson debuted at #2 on Billboard s Top 200 Albums and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts and won a Grammy in 2009 for Best R&B Album.

Discovered and originally signed to Perspective Records by music producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis in 1989 (after being heard at a performance at a club in downtown Minneapolis called First Avenue), their debut album was entitled Meant To Be Mint (released in 1991). Despite their musical versatility the band attempted to attract New Jack Swing listeners with their dance cut “Are You Free”, but it wasn’t successful (the song hit #55 on the R&B charts). However, they did enjoy major success with the ballad “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)”. The song stayed on the charts for 34 weeks, hitting the R&B top 5 (#3), and the Pop Top 10 (#6) and was certified gold by the RIAA. “Forever In Your Eyes” was also successful (#7 R&B). Two years later they released their 2nd platinum album, From The Mint Factory (1993). They enjoyed success with the #2 hit “U Send Me Swingin’”, while “Someone To Love” and “So Fine” hit the R&B Top 30. 1996 saw the release of Definition of a Band. The album hit the R&B Top 20. Some successful singles on this album are: “What Kind Of Man Would I Be” (#2 R&B, #17 pop), and “You Don’t Have To Hurt No More” (#10 R&B). Two years later, The Collection: 1991-1998, a greatest hits compilation, was issued. After Perspective Records/A&M folded, the group signed with Elektra Records in 1999, releasing their fourth full-length album, Life’s Aquarium (#7 R&B). Its main single, If You Love Me, hit the R&B Top 5. As the 21st Century came around, Mint Condition was the only R&B/Funk band signed to a Major Record Label. After a six year hiatus, the group resurfaced as a quintet due to former member and keyboard player Keri Lewis leaving the group to produce for other artists, such as his wife, singer Toni Braxton. During the same year, they released Living The Luxury Brown on their independent label Caged Bird Records. The album hit #1 on the Independent Album Charts. Live From The 9:30 Club, a performance of a concert at the 9:30 club in Washington DC, was issued in 2006.

Born in Birmingham, AL, and raised in Hoover, Hicks grew up listening to classic soul artists such as Otis Redding and Sam Cooke — which he said he could to relate to even as a child due to the divorce of his parents and other troubles — and singer/songwriters like Van Morrison, Bob Seger, and Billy Joel. His chief influence, however, was Ray Charles, whom he admired so much that he carried a little statue of Charles with him whenever he performed. Though Hicks had no formal musical training, he picked up singing, guitar, and harmonica on his own. He began performing for his family at an early age and won a talent contest at his high school (at which time his hair started turning gray). While studying business, communication, and marketing at Auburn University, Hicks formed the Passing Through band, and left school early to try his luck in Nashville. As a touring performer, he opened for artists ranging from James Brown to Drive-By Truckers and also performed at the Playboy Mansion. Hicks released two albums with his band: In Your Time, a live album, and Under the Radar. In 2005, he auditioned for American Idol; the Memphis tryouts were so crowded that Hicks couldn’t get in, so he went to the Las Vegas auditions. Despite the doubts of judge Simon Cowell, Hicks’ differences from the typical pop star look and sound worked for him rather than against him in the competition, and his performances of “Levon,” “Living for the City,” and “Dancing in the Dark” helped put him over the top. After winning American Idol, Hicks signed a record deal with Clive Davis and 19 Recordings Unlimited, and released the single Do I Make You Proud that summer. Hicks also performed with the American Idol tour and began work on his major-label debut album. His self-titled debut arrived in late 2006. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
