Whitley Pleasant is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelors in Art. The Mesquite, Texas native had an early interest in the media beginning in high school. Whitley spent one year being a student DJ at KEOM 88.5 FM writing scripts, editing sound bites, conducting interviews, and operating the switchboard for the morning and evening drive. Working at the radio station paved the way to her television career.
During her undergraduate years at UNT, she was the co-host for a sports magazine show called SportsZone that she later became the executive producer (EP), sideline reported the Mean Green football games such as the 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl, produced a nightly news cast, and was a sports anchor. Whitley also interned at Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and later was hired as a sideline reporter for the DFW area.
Whitley has experience covering high school football playoffs, the Dallas Sidekicks indoor soccer, women’s college basketball, the Dallas Wings and more. She has a passion for storytelling as she has her own blog on SB Nation’s Swish Appeal website. Whitley loves to be in the action and talk sports beyond the stats. Her ultimate dream is to own a production company and host a sports-talk show.
