Erica Rhodes was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to Dallas, TX at the age of 5. She has been acting since the age of 9 when she became a series regular on the beloved children’s show Barney & Friends. You may remember her as “Kim.”
At of the age of 17 Erica moved to Los Angeles, CA to dance under the direction of Debbie Allen at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy where she learned Tap, Jazz, Ballet, African, Modern and Hip Hop. She performed as the narrator in Debbie Allen’s 2003 production of Pepito’s Story.
In 2004, Erica moved back to Dallas to attend college. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2008 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. From 2005-2007 Erica cheered on the Dallas Desperados Arena Football Team as a Dallas Desperados Dancer.
During her college and post college years, Erica has booked numerous roles in short films, industrials and commercials, including:
JCPenney – Erica is the host of StyleWatch. Keeping employees up-to-date on the latest styles and fashion for their JCP customers.
Subway – Jared introduces Subway’s new Hickory Barbecue Chicken Sandwich. While Jared is in a daze, Erica, the Subway employee, brings him back to reality.
In 2009, Erica auditioned for American Idol Season 9 which proved to be an interesting experience. Whipping the judges into shape, Erica was a featured contestant in the 2010 airing of the Dallas auditions. She made it through to Hollywood Week.
Erica is also a host of D210 Television, a cutting edge and fast paced 30 minute video magazine that focuses on positive images and role models for today’s young adults. D210 showcases celebrity interviews, entertainment news, fashion, music artist spotlights, music videos, sports and local charity events. Erica currently resides in the Dallas and Los Angeles.
