LOS ANGELES – Wolverine is getting serious. When Hugh Jackman signed on to produce as well as star in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (opening Friday), it was a conscious decision to wrest the character from a franchise that had made Wolverine more touchy-feely than his comic-book roots. “He’s a dark guy, a badass who does some questionable things,” Jackman says. “I felt like we really hadn’t tapped into the anger that he has in the comic books.” He promises that this film, featuring Liev Schreiber and Ryan Reynolds as fellow mutants, will be darker than any previous one featuring Wolverine.
