Lauper urges Boyle to take film role

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Cyndi Lauper says it would be “fantastic” if British singing sensation Susan Boyle accepted an offer to be in a planned film starring the U.S. pop singer and actress Tippi Hedren.

Susan Boyle, at 47, became one of the world’s hottest celebrities virtually overnight after her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent” this month. The clip has already been viewed around 50 million times on YouTube.

Lauper and Hedren are due to start work on dramatic comedy “Section B,” a tale about baby boomers who put their lives on hold to chase their dreams. The film also stars Queen Emily David, a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”

The film’s director Darla Rae has asked Boyle to appear in the film and sing a duet with David.
