He was born in Fort Worth, TX. Singer, songwriter, producer, and musician Keite Young found himself in a talented musical family. His grandfather was a blues singer who performed under the name Big Daddy Young while his mother and father, Carrie and Dalon Collins, toured with Kirk Franklin & the Family.
Keite started writing songs when he was eight years old but did not start singing until his late teens, by which time he was already an ordained preacher.
He taught himself to play keyboards, drums, and guitar and spent his time making home demos of his songs, which prepared him for his current success.Young’s debut album, The Rise and Fall of Keite Young, blends a mixture of soul, funk, R/B, and a some gospel.
