Dallas Wings Forward Resign Theresa Plaisance

Arlington, TX –The Dallas Wings have re-signed forward Theresa Plaisance to a multi-year contract, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Plaisance appeared in all 34 games, with 25 starts, during the 2017 campaign. The New Orleans, LA native, posted career highs in nine statistical categories, including scoring, registering 7.7 points per outing. She also collected 4.3 rebounds per outing while averaging 20.3 minutes per game. At the foul line, the 25-year old shot a career best 82.6 percent.

“Theresa has evolved from a third-round pick who played sparingly early in her career to a player who can log starter’s minutes at multiple positions in the WNBA,” Wings President & CEO Greg Bibb stated. “Her size and ability to shoot with 3-point range, combined with her versatility, make her a valuable part of our team. Additionally, she has matured into a leader on and off the court for our club and we are excited to have her wearing a Wings uniform in 2018 and beyond.”

The LSU alumna was originally drafted by the franchise as the third pick of the third round (27th overall) of the 2014 WNBA Draft. In her career she has played in 105 games, averaging 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per outing while playing 12.4 minutes per game.

About the Dallas Wings The Dallas Wings are one of twelve professional teams in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team, now in season three, was introduced to the Dallas-Fort Worth area on November 2, 2015, becoming the first WNBA organization to call the Dallas Metroplex home. On May 19, 2016, the team tipped off their inaugural season inside College Park Center, a state-of-the-art facility located on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. The Wings compete against the best women’s basketball teams in the world each summer, playing a 34-game WNBA slate beginning in May and ending in August.
